Podcasts are one of my favorite sources of media. Now a days there are hundreds of thousands of different podcasts for pretty much every interest you could possibly have. One of the reasons I like podcasts so much is not only are they portable, but they are also easily accessible, and easy to start one of your own. If you are into that kind of thing.

Last year while talking to some friends and family members about therapy and how to find a therapist that fits their needs, I realized how difficult it can be to understand the different styles and approaches of therapy for people that aren’t trained in the field. I’ve always thought that was a significant barrier to reaching out and booking with a therapist when a client needs to (alternative: when a client is ready.). So, after talking with my family and friends about it I decided to start my podcasting journey and create Couch to Couch: Making Therapy Make Sense with Chuck LeBlanc.

The purpose behind this podcast is to showcase casual conversations about therapy with therapists to help the audience get to know the different styles, types, and goings on of therapy. The feedback from the audience so far is that it has helped them have an easier time finding a therapist that is a better fit for them, and it has also helped them understand the process of therapy. On top of this the podcast had quickly become an avenue for clients to better understand the complex problem they may have been facing and helped to understand that many other people feel the exact same way, including us therapists.
