REGISTERED PYSCHOTHERAPIST

My intention as a therapist is to offer a safe, non-stigmatizing, and non-pathologizing space where you can bring your full self to explore what is meaningful to you. Perhaps you are feeling stuck in a cycle of secrecy, shame, and isolation that often accompanies alcohol and substance use. Or, maybe you are feeling exhausted and helpless as you navigate a loved one’s substance use and mental health concerns. Oftentimes, worries of the future, pain and losses of the past, and life’s ongoing demands pile up to the point where we feel disconnected from who and what is important to us. My hope is to collaborate with you through a compassionate process of self-discovery and growth that moves you toward a fulfilling life in the present.

I hold a post-graduate certificate in addiction and mental health treatment (Georgian College) and a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology (Athabasca University). I am registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), and I am a member of the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals (OAMHP). Over the past 12 years, I have worked with individuals in various settings including women’s shelters, residential treatment centers, schools, community mental health clinics, and private practice.

Throughout my professional development, I have focused on understanding substance use and concurrent mental health issues, as well as recovery-oriented therapeutic approaches to support individuals and their loved ones through the stages of change. Whether you are looking to explore or change your relationship with substances, reconnect with yourself, build healthy relationships and boundaries, and/or develop effective coping strategies, I am committed to supporting you to make effective changes.

My therapeutic approach is client-centered, strengths-based, and informed by polyvagal, trauma and attachment frameworks. I am also a yoga teacher who is deeply passionate about bringing awareness to and engaging the body’s nervous system in therapy to emphasize the mind-body connection. I believe that by befriending the nervous system, we can more deeply understand stress and trauma responses, and tap into valuable resources that enhance well-being, authenticity, and connectedness.

I look forward to connecting with you.
