REGISTERED PYSCHOTHERAPIST

My intention as a therapist is to offer a safe, non-stigmatizing, and non-pathologizing space to individuals and loved ones who are navigating problematic substance use, and a range of mental health and relational concerns. Whether you are looking to reconnect with yourself, build healthy relationships and boundaries, or develop effective coping strategies, I will collaborate with you to engage in a process of self-discovery, empowerment, and personal growth.

I have a post-graduate certificate in the treatment of addiction and mental health from Georgian College and a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from Athabasca University. I am registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) as well as a member of the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals (OAMHP). Since 2012, I have worked with diverse populations in various settings, including women’s shelters, residential treatment centers, schools, community mental health clinics, and private practice. Throughout my professional development, I have focused extensively on understanding the complexities of addiction and recovery-oriented therapeutic approaches to support individuals and families through stages of change.

My therapeutic approach is client-centered, strengths-based, trauma and attachment-informed. I also integrate motivational, cognitive, and emotion-focused modalities. I believe that drawing on a systemic approach can also help us identify the broader social and environmental factors that contribute to your unique challenges. By emphasizing connection and a support network, and through involving family members and loved ones, a systemic approach can promote stronger relationships and a more resilient support system for sustained change.

Furthermore, I am deeply passionate about the transformative power of yoga and its profound impact on the nervous system. I am a trained yoga teacher (YTT 200) and I firmly believe that by establishing a nurturing connection with our nervous system, we can understand trauma responses and tap into powerful tools for healing and resilience. Recognizing the mind-body connection, I integrate principles of yoga and mindfulness into my practice though the use of breathwork, meditation, and gentle movement to unlock the body’s natural capacity to reduce stress and enhance overall well-being.

I look forward to connecting with you.
