Why Community Matters
At KSRC, community involvement is not separate from our clinical work. It reflects our values.
We believe mental health is shaped not only by personal experience, but by the systems, relationships, and communities we are part of. Supporting well-being means advocating for safer spaces, stronger connections, and accessible resources.
Our leadership has been actively involved in organizations and initiatives throughout North Grenville and the surrounding region to strengthen support for individuals and families.

Local Leadership & Board Involvement
KSRC leadership has contributed to several local organizations, including:
Through these roles, we have supported local businesses, strengthened community collaboration, and advocated for improved services for vulnerable populations.
Queer Peer Support Initiative
In 2021, Meagan founded the Queer Peer Support program in collaboration with NG Pride and the North Grenville Rainbow Youth Alliance.
This initiative created a safe space for 2LGBTQIA+ youth and their parents to share experiences, build understanding, and access education and local resources. The program was later transitioned to new leadership to ensure its continued impact in the community.
This work reflects our ongoing commitment to inclusion, affirmation, and safe spaces for all identities.

Advocacy for Survivors of Gender-Based Violence
KSRC leadership has been a strong advocate for survivors of sexual and gender-based violence in North Grenville.
In collaboration with Victim Services of Leeds Grenville, presentations were made to local Council highlighting the need for expanded sexual assault supports in the Kemptville area.
We have also supported and organized the annual Take Back the Night March, working alongside community partners and local leaders to raise awareness and strengthen services.
Advocacy is a natural extension of clinical care. Supporting survivors requires both therapeutic support and systemic change.
